One cannot do more LA than lunching at the Polo Lounge restaurant of the Beverly Hills Hotel on a Friday !
A friend booked a table for us to catch up on my last day in the city, and what a brilliant idea. We sat under the shades, protected by beautiful greenery and flowers, the perfect table for a fun lunch between friends.
Surrounded by LA Ladies lunching, looking all the same (as sharing the same surgeon…) and people pretending to be super important, it was a fun crowd !
I was not really expecting much from the food I must admit, in my mind, it was more about the name of the place, but I was wrong, each dish was very well presented – as you would expect – but delicious as well.
Starting with the Ahi Tuna Tartare, avocado, sea beans and pine nuts and half a douzen of oyerster for my friend. We both ordered the Maine Lobster Salad as a main, how very reasonable for a Friday lunch isn’t it ?
I loved the classic old style of the team’s uniform, the effortless service and attention to details provided by the team. I was told the Sundays are particularly lovely as the Polo Lounge features a live Jazz band playing during the Brunch…another excuse to come back ?
After lunch, we stepped into Hollywood history at the famous Pool…much smaller than I expected it to be but so iconic !
I kid you not, this place is absolutely magical, the Pink Hotel is exactly what I always pictured Beverly Hills to be. You do not need to stay at the Beverly Hills Hotel to experience the uniqueness of this iconic hotel and the wonderful service but you must book a table at the Polo Lounge next time you are in town !
