Mango Tree London

You can take the girl out of Thailand but you cannot take Thailand out of the girl ! Thai food has become our obsession, clearly enhance by our resent trip to Thailand. So on Saturday evening, date night with Husband, I decided to book Mango Tree in Belgravia. I passed by the restaurant countless number of times so it was time to give it a try.

Entering the restaurant we found ourselves back in Thailand thanks to the amazing aroma of flavour floating in the restaurant. The atmosphere is super trendy and fit perfectly with the Belgravia vibe. I was not a fan of the loud music…might be getting old ! We went straight to our table and gave a miss to the Bar…but it looked very fun for a girls night out.

To be fair, I was not expecting such a vast dinning room, I was surprise to see so many groups dining with us that evening and we were one of the few couples left after 8pm. The décor is super sleek and elegant, East Asian meet West, impeccable service from the team.

We both ordered the Mango Tree Satay mix, which offered beef, chicken and mix seafood satay skewers. The meat were extremely tender and marinated to perfection. That peanut sauce was to die for ! Now are you guys selling it in jars ???

As for the main courses…..

I am so sorry to say that…we actually could not resist eating it before I was even able to take a picture ! I only managed to picture one dish, Gai Pad Med Manuang, stir-fried chicken fillets with cashew nuts, mushrooms and spring onion, garnished with dry chillies. Only traditional Thai sticky rice will do for this delicious dish !

The food was very tasty and traditional. The only comment I would say is make it more hot !! We asked for some chilly powder 😉

The total bill was over £120.00 including 2 courses, a bottle of water, a Chablis, 2 espressos and a digestive.
