Santhiya Koh Yao Resort & Spa

Koh Yao Yai was my little place of heaven on earth and Santhiya Resort & Spa was my home during my time in heaven…

Santhiya Resorts & Spa

We were escorted to our Supreme Deluxe Sea View and were amazed…The interior of the room is decorated with impressive woodworking as the rest of the hotel – in 10 days it never stopped fazing me. Walking in the room, we were greeted with Santhiya’s welcome drink and a beautifully decorated “honeymoon” welcome.

I loved that our room smelled like a Spa ! The products provided in the bathroom and on the balcony for the bathtub smelled amazing. I used and abused the products and can only apologies if the maid had to refill a couple of times during our stay… I just loved them !

The room was located on the 3rd floor of the building and therefore offered outstanding panoramic sea views with a large balcony it was the perfect place to enjoy a glass of Champagne and watch the sunset over the horizon. I have never experienced such a breathtaking sunset…

The hotel’ Spa, Ayurvana, was located between our building and the beach – on the hill – and consisted in several villas offering total privacy and stunning views. We booked the Aloe Vera after Sun Massage treatment which was relaxing and healing… the aloe vera gel is anti-inflammatory and moisturising, definitely a treatment you’ll want to have to help your skin recover from the burning sun. Our treatment lasted over 2h !

As the buildings and the Villas are located on the hill, we had to call for a car to come and pick us up, the little journey to the beach is super stiff but by car much easier and it is super fun !

We spent our days at the pool and the beach admiring the views, reading and seeping on cocktails and Singha Beer ! Each time I went for a swim, I was pretty much on my own in the sea… now, that is luxury to me. The pool had a fantastic waterfall cascade from 2.8 meter high, rocks in the pool that were my “islands” 😉

Food at the restaurant of the beach was delicious, service A la Carte and Buffet. As you can imagine, we avoided the buffet style to dine A la Carte and sample delicious Thai dishes.

To say that we fell in love with Santhiya is a little understatement… Everything was perfect to us, the staff was really lovely and could not do more to assist us. The team was coming from Thailand, but Philippines, Burma and Cambodia too.  The resort is beautiful and incredibly relaxing.
There was a big mix between families and couples, from across the world. Most of the people were there for a couple of days so we did see a lot of people come and go during our time at the hotel. It felt like we were part of the team and knew everyone by then !

Complimentary 2 bottles of water were provided daily as little sweet amenities – traditional Thai biscuits – which were a delight to come back to after a long day at the beach. Wifi is complimentary and worked perfectly in our room, a little bit hazardous in the rest of the resort but then again…we were on holiday so not a big deal !
